Le "Pote-cast"
The Trick Play Podcast is first and foremost the story of eight community managers: Augustin from Notre Dame FR, Baptiste from Oklahoma State FR, Elio from Maryland FR, Kévin and Robin from Oregon FR, Rayane from LSU FR, Valentin from Ole Miss FR, and Guillaume from Florida FR. Eight College Football enthusiasts who decided one November evening in 2019 to turn their passion into a somewhat crazy project at the time: a podcast in French dedicated solely to College Football news.
Without mincing words and with a certain degree of bad faith of course, but above all with what drove us to create our Twitter accounts in the first place: passion and the desire to share.
You have listened to us talk about upset alerts, the coaching carousel, and recruiting classes. You've heard us squabble over the SEC schedule and whether or not Max Duggan deserved the Heisman Trophy. You've listened to us analyze hard-hitting safeties and quarterbacks without arms.
After more than 300 episodes, thousands of tweets, countless hours on Twitch, complete coverage of the 2021, 2022 and 2023 drafts, a Discord server, and almost 4000 followers on Twitter, the team wanted to go even further in their commitment. The most logical and natural next step seemed to be the creation of a website where we could continue to offer in writing all our love and passion for this sport that you too love so much. Because The Trick Play Podcast is also your story, listener and now reader! If the podcast has grown and evolved, it is also thanks to you, always more present, always more active, always more invested.
Given the current news, a large part of the site will be dedicated in these first weeks to the preparation for the 2024 draft, with finely-tuned scoutings prepared by Rayane and Valentin. But not only that! Expect also articles on current events and opinions, and already, projections for the 2024 season.
For those who prefer to hear our suave voices rather than endure our random prose, rest assured, the podcast will of course continue! A kind of double-effect Kiss Cool or Hook and Ladder, in short. What could be more normal, you might ask, for a podcast called The Trick Play?
The French community around college sports obviously did not start with The Trick Play, but it has never been as visible and lively. And we hope that the arrival of the website will bring even more debates and animation.
